Topic-Romans
This half term our topic was the Romans, which we have enjoyed a lot. A centurion (A Roman soldier) came in to school, and we even got to do a fake fight with real shields. For our school trip we went to Roman Verulamium museum and discovered the Roman market. Next term our topic will be Mountains.
English
In English we have done a huge variety of things including:
Descriptions, letter writing, instructions and explanations and many more. In descriptions we wrote stories that had to be descriptive. For letter writing we wrote letters to apply for dream job.
Maths
In maths we have also done a variety of things including:
shapes and symmetry, coordinates, fractions and many, many more.We have learnt lots of new things like coordinates which we never knew.
Science
In science we our topic is Keeping Warm. In keeping Warm we investigated things that were thermal insulators and thermal conductors.

Anastasia’s and Jessie’s blog
Since Hudnall Park, we have
had a change of topic to Escape to the Country. We have been filling out our
Hudnall Park books and learning a bit about the british country side and
rivers. On google maps we had a look at the river lea and followed it’s journey
to the thames.
During English we have been
looking at explanation texts and we have started doing one of our own.
In science we have been studying
living things and systematic observations.
It has been a great year and
we have all enjoyed it!

THOMAS’ AND KERRY’S GIGANTIC BLOG
This
blog is about year 4’s fantastic final day at Hudnall Park. Firstly, we packed our
massive suitcases and went down stairs to have our tasty cooked breakfast. After
that we went to check our mammal traps, we sadly didn’t catch anything.
Then,
we spilt ourselves into groups and went into the woods to build dens. Ours went
quit well but it wasn’t water proof.
After that, we made sculpture’s, ours was a squirrel it was outlined
with sticks and we filled the body with dead beach leaves, then we covered the
tail with sticks.
Sadly
it was time to go after we had to go back to the dining room for lunch mine was
a tuna sandwich. Then we had free time then got our bags and went by car to
school.
DANIEL AND ALI”S AMAZING BLOG!
I liked the third day at Hudnall Park. We did den building, sculpturing
and mammal trapping. I liked den building because making the dens was really
fun because they looked awesome when they are finished.
On the third day unluckily we didn’t catch anything but on the first day
we caught a mouse called Winnie.
When it was sculpturing time Ali and Daniel made a snake. When we got
back to Hudnall Park we had snacks. After snacks we went home.
Ben and Will's mind-blowing blog
On Friday the 5th of June 2015, we were
on our last day at Hudnall Park in Little Gaddesden.
Before very long, we were inside the woods
starting to build brilliant dens .Although many people tripped over the most
memorable was Will when he fell and ripped his jeans.
After around half an hour, we had all finished our
dens and thought about if it was waterproof, if it could fit everyone in and which
was the best.
Will’s den built from a log going from 1 v tree
to another, then adding a few over sticks and on top of them some leaves to
make a waterproof barrier. Ben’s den was built from gargantuan logs leaning
against a colossal tree. His group also made a fabulous cooking pot.
Will’s group made a bat made out of stones and
twigs whilst Ben’s group made a lock ness monster out of tree trunks.

Hudnall Park
was so much fun, all those magical memories I made. The den building was really
fun, I felt relieved that I can actually make a real den. My group was Alex, Amelia,
Amelie and me. We work really well together, in all we do. Are den worked out brilliantly
in the end, it was so much fun and looked like it would last a long time. When we
changed to are sculpture groups we made things like snakes, bats and lots more.
Are group, Kerry, Willow, Amelie and me made a present. My favourite sculpture was the bat because it
gave the effect of a real bat and my favourite den was the cave man den because
it looked like someone actually lived there.

Tako and Ollie’s BLOG!!!
Last week we went to Hudnall park in little Gaddeson for a school trip. On
the third day
they headed down to the forest after doing
our mammal trapping (witch we enjoyed)
to do some sculpture making and den building.
All the dens were brilliant but not all of them
Would keep you dry at night! There was lots of materials to use for the
dens and the sculptures a lot o them were gemstones witch
Were mostly used for cutting wood. Some of the sculptures were 3D but most
of them were 2D. It was so fun! After that we had lunch then played some games.
Finally we got are bags and said thank you to Mrs Button because without her
coming we wouldn’t of been able to go.

“Wake
up” “wake up, rise and shine” that was Mrs Haines waking us up in the morning. It
was our last day at Hudnall Park. Noooo! First of all we got up had showers and
packed our bags for room inspection and going. Then we had breakfast and got
ready for one of the best activities, if you ask us. Our dens were amazing, but
we just couldn’t live in them. UNFAIR!!!After that we got into groups. We were
in a pair and made a cute teddy bear although it did look slightly like a monster
but you can’t blame us! But sadly after that had to go home.

Anastasia and Eliza's blog
Last week, we went to Hudnall
Park!
We did a range of activities including
mammal trapping and a 3 and a half mile walk.
On our third day we headed
down to the wood to build dens and make nature sculptures. Our group started by
building a big skeleton then we covered the bottom layer in a coat of sticks.
After putting on the sticks, we filled all the gaps up with leaves to make it
waterproof. Our den looked brilliant although it was a little small.
After that, we made nature
sculptures. We used a wood stump, some stones, and slabs of wood to make a bat.
We really enjoyed our trip to
Hudnall Park and would definitely recommend going there.

Matt and Jack's wonderful, marvellous blog
Last week year 4 went to hudnall park .On the last day of their
amazing trip they ventured into the woods and built terrific dens and made 3D
sculptures of a animal or thing of their choice made out of the things around
them.
The dens were very warm ,cosy
and some were waterproof. Also the dens were extremely imaginative. Between us
we think Jack’s den was better because it had a garden with a pretend fire.
